I've been doing BTS AI-consulting for my own company by helping introduce tools and workflows to make the work easiar - it can be challenging I think telling people what workflows they can improve without having done the role itself. It seems like the approach is to be a fly in the wall and conducting user interviews to see the work for a few colleagues
How does she handle skepticism and fears from doomer narratives among the employees?
(Why would I want to use AI if it's used for defense and might be made to replace me)
And how do consultancies like this charge? How does she find clients?
Had such a fun timing chatting all things non linear with you! Finding my WHY is the biggest unlock to navigating this path. Nothing more motivating than thinking about what I don’t want to regret when I’m older :)
This, "You’ll forever have two different worlds. You just have to find a way to be okay with that, and make time for both. Don’t neglect one over the other."
On LinkedIn and at work, it's easy to only see our peers and colleagues as only the work version of themselves. Whereas everyone has an entire life outside of work. As a dad of two young kids and both my wife and me working demanding tech jobs, it's real conversations like this that make you feel that you're not alone in figuring out how to create harmony between family life and career ambition. Thanks for sharing, Hannah and Danielle!
really fascinating piece! have been thinking a lot about the nonlinear path lately and actually just started my own substack on technology, consumer culture, ambition, and twenty-something life called Side Eye if you're ever in that corner of the internet!

Fabulous interview! I appreciate her holistic view of career choices as they related to her various roles, relationships, and values.
The “low-status” work is often where the real money is.
Why? Because it sits closest to pain customers will actually pay to remove.
Best line here: use AI to compress overhead, not the thing the customer is buying.
